Molly Springfield has been a TSV contributor since the spring of 2010 and also serves as a Copy Editor. She continues to pursue ambitious projects in her own work as an artist and we are excited to feature her and her accomplishments.

Molly is included in It Is Almost That: A Collection of Image + Text, a new anthology of text-based art and writing by women artists edited by Lisa Pearson of Siglio Press. The book includes projects by Eleanor Antin, Louise Bourgeois, Ann Hamilton, Susan Hiller, Adrian Piper, and Sue Williams, among others. Molly also contributed to the accompanying limited edition, It Is Almost That (Box).

Currently on view, Molly is included in  Art=Text=Art: Works by Contemporary Artists, an exhibition of selections from the Sally & Wynn Kramarsky Collection at the University of Richmond Museums in Richmond, Virginia through October 16, 2011. Among the more than 40 artists included in the exhibition are Alice Aycock, Trisha Brown, Dan Flavin, Jane Hammond, Jasper Johns, Sol LeWitt, Ed Ruscha, Karen Schiff, Cy Twombly, John Waters, and Lawrence Weiner.
The exhibition is curated by N. Elizabeth Schlatter, Deputy Director of the Museums, with Rachel Nackman, Registrar of the Kramarsky Collection. The exhibition of 70 works on paper from the Kramarsky Collection, many of which have never before been shown, represent 43 different artists and examine the incorporation of text and other elements of language, the communication of information, and the formal structure of narrative in drawings, print series, and artists’ books.

Lastly, Molly is the recipient of a 2011 Artist Fellowship from the D.C. Commission on the Arts & Humanities and will have her tenth solo show in 2012 at Thomas Robertello Gallery in Chicago.
