Sedrick Huckaby is an incredible painter and artist. I met him during our time as graduate students at Yale School of Art’s Painting program. He was the youngest one in our class and was probably one of the hardest working one there. I loved his quilt paintings then as well as his portraits, and he continues to paint both subjects today. He has won numerous awards and has been included in many exhibitions and is now a nationally celebrated painter. He is currently an Assistant Professor of painting in the Department of Art and Art History at UT Arlington, where he has been teaching since 2009.
